CeBIT still calling? February 26, 2010

For German IT-companies CeBIT is still one of the highlights of the business year. But like almost all IT shows CeBIT is declining in terms of the number of exhibitors and visitors. Last year the management of Deutsche Messe counted 4,300 exhibitors from all over the world which is a decrease of 25 percent compared to 2008. Cut by three days CeBIT only lasts from 2nd to 6th March with one day for consumers. But like every year if you go there you don’t expect to meet that many people, because at the end of last CeBIT everybody was complaining. But I bet this year it will be the same as every year. The show is a good place to meet and to share business experiences. You see people you haven’t seen for a long time and start talking about business no matter if you see empty halls or lots of chill out areas.

CeBIT for me is still calling, it is the place to be in these days. And at the end of next week it will be all the same. Nobody would ever go there again…
